Lover of Regular Japanese Life
Kaori Nike
About me
I was born in Kyoto and grew up around Tokyo. I studied in Victoria, Canada for about a year when I was a university student. I’ve been working in Shinjuku Skyscraper area for 9 years, and enjoy strolling around the neighborhood on weekends. My tour is located in Kichijoji, which is not really a sightseeing spot, but definitely one of the most popular towns among Japanese people for its laid-back and relaxing atmosphere. Fashionable areas like Ginza and Omotesando, or culturally unique places such as Asakusa are easily tourists’ favorites. And these areas are special and somewhat bizarre even for Japanese people. My tour highlights the regular life in Japan such as supermarkets, shopping malls, 100 Yen shops or food stalls that local people enjoy. Through walking around the town, I’d like you to explore the different kinds of charms of sightseeing spots. My tour is open to any type of travelers, including solos, couples, families or friends. You don't need to have any special interests or knowledge to join in. Of course, if you have any, don’t hesitate to ask! I'll try my best to satisfy what you want to experience.
What does traveling mean to me
The best way to know the world, people, and myself
The failure stories in previous trips
I had my purse stolen at midnight crossing in Copenhagen. I had coffee at a cafe, forgot to close the backpack, left the cafe, waited for a signal only for 2 minutes and found that the purse was gone within 5 minutes after I left the cafe.

- Nicholas Colaccino2020/10/06My guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. After taking a virtual stroll through the streets, I felt as though I had been there. Instead of just seeing the sights or hitting the main attractions, this tour showed me the personal side of the city.
